Mainz 05 have today announced the arrival of Danish youth international William Bøving from Sturm Graz for a reported €3.5m. The 22-year-old forward has penned a four-year contract until 2029. Get German Football News first exclusively reported Mainz’ interest in Bøving back in July, with the move now confirmed.

“William fits the profile we’re looking for perfectly,” said M05 Sporting Director Niko Bungert. “He’s extremely strong, dangerous in front of goal, and intelligent – a player who can help us immediately and, at just 22 years old, offers the opportunity for further development.”

Bøving added: “I had three very good years at Sturm Graz but now the moment feels right for me to take the next step in my career. The move to Mainz is a big and important decision for me and my family. I’m looking forward to a great club with a large fan base and to help my new team, which I hope to soon help achieve their sporting goals.”
