Official | Liverpool announce the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen

Liverpool have announced the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.

On the day that Trent Alexander-Arnold joins Real Madrid, the Premier League champions waste no time in officially announcing his replacement.

Frimpong had been linked with a move to Merseyside for a few months now and was reportedly keen to sign for the club.

Having undergone his medical earlier this week, the Dutchman international is official a Liverpool player.

Upon signing for the club, Frimpong explained his excitement to be joining one of the world’s most successful teams.

“It went quite easy. Liverpool came and said they had interest, and obviously for me it was a no-brainer.” The 24-year-old fullback continued: “For me, it was like, ‘Whatever you guys do, just get this done, just get this done.” Frimpong then addressed the Liverpool fans directly: “Liverpool fans, I’m going to give my all, my energy, my work-rate and hopefully we can win together, we celebrate together, get everything together.”
