The Coupe de France semi-final between Ligue 2 side USL Dunkerque and Ligue 1 leaders PSG will be held at Lille’s Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Dunkerque have announced. The Seasiders will therefore return to Les Dogues‘ ground after eliminating Bruno Genesio’s squad on their own turf and on penalties in the last-16 stage. Dunkerque beat another Ligue 1 team – Brest – in the quarter-finals despite trailing 2-0. On the other end, PSG made little work of fourth-tier minnows Saint-Brieuc (7-0).

In their press release, Dunkerque said they would have preferred to host Luis Enrique’s Les Parisiens in their historic Stade Marcel-Tribut, but the drastic security measures associated with hosting PSG as well as the French FA’s requirements made this option untenable. “The club has studied all the possibilities taking into account the situation of our supporters and the prospect of maximizing the chances of our team. After many exchanges with all stakeholders, it was decided that this match will be played at the Lille’s Stade Pierre-Mauroy. This decision, although difficult, was made in the best interest of our club and our supporters.”
