It’s official, Chelsea have confirmed that one of their highly rated captains has signed a new contract extension until 2031 today.
The news comes off the back of Chelsea only managing to draw 2-2 at home with Ipswich Town on Sunday, a team who are destined to be in the Championship again next season.
One BBC pundit has pinned the blame on the players for the draw on Sunday, saying that they have to take a long hard look at themselves after that poor performance.
And head coach Enzo Maresca has also picked out two of his players for making some mistakes in the game which he believes was not good enough and cost them.
Overall though it was so poor, and blame really must be shared between the head coach, the manager, and those who have built an unbalanced squad at Chelsea that severely lacks quality experience and balance.
But back to the big news of the day, and Chelsea fans will be excited to learn that highly rated academy talent Ishe Samuels-Smith has put pen to paper on a new deal with the club.
As per the Chelsea website, the left back who has also worn the captains armband a number of times for the U21s, has signed a new extension with Chelsea that last until 2031.
The youngster has already been involved in some senior squads as well and Chelsea fans who follow the academy know what a top prospect this guy is and they will be very pleased to hear that he has signed a new contract with the club and hoping he will have a long career in blue.
