Official: Barcelona star takes teammate’s jersey number | OneFootball

A significant squad number change in La Liga giants Barcelona’s first-team ranks was noted on Sunday.

This of course comes after the Blaugrana took to the pitch for the first time since the close of the 2024/25 campaign.

After making the trip to Japan for the first leg of the club’s Asia tour earlier this week, Hansi Flick’s troops have locked horns with Vissel Kobe, in a friendly clash.

Flick and his staff opted for a strong line-up for the day, featuring the likes of Pedri, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal.

Also in from the off for his debut in Barca colours was summer signing Joan García.

And as alluded to above, in emerging from the tunnel at Noevir Stadium Kobe, the shot-stopper’s jersey number was confirmed.

As showcased below, set to act as first-choice between the posts in Catalunya’s capital this season, Joan has replaced teammate Marc-André ter Stegen as the Blaugrana’s no.1:
