Aziz Ouattara Mohamed has officially left KRC Genk to sign with Israeli side Maccabi Netanya on August 25, 2025. This transfer marks a fresh start for the Ivorian player, who had been plying his trade in Belgium since 2022.

Arriving at KRC Genk with high expectations from Hammarby IF (Sweden), Aziz Ouattara never truly managed to secure a significant spot within the Limburg squad. Despite his impressive physical attributes and valued versatility, the 24-year-old only made a limited number of appearances in the Jupiler Pro League, often hampered by competition for places and a few injury setbacks.

A new start in Israel

Maccabi Netanya, a top-flight Israeli club, has confirmed the signing of the Ivorian defender in a permanent transfer. Aziz Ouattara has inked a two-year contract with an option for a further year. The transfer fee has not been disclosed.

Trained at ASEC Mimosas, like many of Ivory Coast's top talents, Ouattara was spotted early for his maturity on the pitch and his ability to dominate in duels. His spell in Sweden with Hammarby allowed him to make a name for himself on the European stage, particularly thanks to his performances in the Allsvenskan. For Aziz Ouattara, this move represents an opportunity to reignite his career and secure regular playing time once again.
