The Algerian club USM Alger officially announced on Tuesday evening the appointment of Abdelhak Benchikha as head coach of the first team for one season. He returns to the club where he previously led them to glory.In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the club stated:

"The management of USM Alger announces the signing of coach Abdelhak Benchikha for one season.Benchikha is one of the club’s iconic figures, having guided our team to victory in the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Super Cup. We welcome him and wish him great success in leading the team to new titles."

This marks Benchikha's second stint at USM Alger. He previously managed the team between December 2022 and October 2023, achieving two historic feats:

Winning the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in the club’s history and clinching the CAF Super Cup against Egypt’s Al Ahly.Since his departure, Benchikha briefly coached Simba SC (Tanzania), JS Kabylie (Algeria), and Modern F.C. (Egypt), before deciding to return to Algeria to take on a new challenge with his former club.
