Oaktree: New Inter owners send encouraging message to fans

“To the Nerazzurri everywhere, Today marks a new chapter in the partnership between Inter and Oaktree. As we assume ownership, we want to reiterate our commitment to the club’s prosperity and success,” said the American fund.

“Since 2021, we’ve been supportive partners of Inter, valuing its legacy, history and the unwavering spirit of its players and fans. Your passion and loyalty are the heartbeat of the Nerazzurri’s enduring success.

“We are proud our financing helped support the club’s successes over the past three years and look forward to working closely with the current management team to build on the momentum of the historic second star. For this reason, we are focused on ensuring operational and financial stability to help deliver consistent success to the club on and off the pitch.

“Forza Inter sempre! Oaktree.”

The American firm formally took control of the club last week after former president Steven Zhang failed to repay a loan of nearly €400m, including interests.

Inter coach Inzaghi set to meet Oaktree

Oaktree have already confirmed that current directors Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio, Dario Baccin and Alessandro Antonello will retain their roles.

Inzaghi and Oaktree are expected to finalise a two-year contract extension after the Italian tactician won the Serie A title, the 20th in the club’s history this season.

On Sunday night, the first match in the Oaktree era ended in a 2-2 draw at Hellas Verona.
