Brentford Women midfielder Nour Aboul Kheir says the Bees have quickly narrowed their focus back on the league following their historic FA Cup first-round win last time out.

Karleigh Osborne’s side return to LSE Division One North action on Sunday when they travel to face Richmond and Kew at Ham Playing Fields (2pm kick-off).

The fixture follows Brentford’s win over Ascot United, earning them a place in the FA Cup second round against London Seaward on 24 November.

“We’re all feeling quite confident, this season has gone quite well for us, we’ve won all our games, we’ve done well against teams higher up. I’m sure it will be a good one this weekend as well,” said Aboul Kheir.

"There’s a lot of attention on us to continue winning games. All of us are thinking finish one game, win that game and focus on the next one to keep that winning streak going.”

The Bees have already claimed three points this season against Richmond and Kew: a six-goal win at the start of September at Bedfont Sports Club.

“We won 6-0 and we had four goalscorers, so I think we were quite good in attacking and getting to the ball first,” said Aboul Kheir.

“I remember they put a lot of pressure on us as well, so the key thing is just patience again, which we’ve been good at doing this season.”

As another clash against a higher-ranked side beckons in the FA Cup second round, Aboul Kheir said the Bees would use the upcoming fixtures to continue to build their form ahead of the meeting with London Seaward.

“One of the things that we have this year that we didn’t show much last year is our confidence and expressing ourselves on the ball, trying those little things,” she explained.

“I think these league games are good for that because it helps build our confidence against the higher teams. Going into that [FA Cup second round] it’s just about expressing ourselves.”

Last time out

Osborne’s side created history in their most recent clash, defeating Ascot United 4-2 to book their place in the FA Cup second round for the first time in club history.

A first-half brace from Ashley Cheatley got the Bees off to a great start, the group taking a 2-0 lead into half-time.

Chloe Logie scored just after the break, before the visitors added two of their own in quick succession. After a tense second half, Logie scored her second in stoppage time to secure the victory.

Last time out in the league, Brentford cruised to a 15-0 win over Richmond Park. Cheatley and Logie each scored five goals, while Nikki Woods, Samantha Read, Lucy Potter, Paula Holguin and Carolin Engelhard each scored one.

Previously against Richmond and Kew, the Bees dominated to win 6-0. Cheatley and Holguin each scored twice, with Chloe Webb and Maddie Phillips adding one each at Bedfont.

They enter Sunday’s clash with three wins and five losses, sitting them eighth in the league table and eight points above the drop with games in hand.

They also enjoyed an FA Cup first-round qualifying win over Sevenoaks Town, eventually falling in second-round qualifying to Reading in penalties.
