Nottingham Forest head to Brighton in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup this evening.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are one win from a semi-final berth at Wembley in what is fast emerging as a dream campaign. The Tricky Trees have been the surprise package of the Premier League season and sit third in the table.
Forest are closing in on a shock Champions League qualification and also have silverware in their sights. The club’s last major trophy was the 1990 League Cup, while Forest have not won this competition since 1959.
Their opponents, Brighton, are one of four teams in the quarter-finals to have never lifted the FA Cup.
Nuno Espirito Santo has suffered a blow with leading scorer Chris Wood ruled out. The forward picked up an injury while helping New Zealand secure 2026 World Cup qualification. Given the long travel involved in his return home for internationals, Wood may have been a doubt. However, a hip injury means he will play no part.
Back-up goalkeeper Carlos Miguel is the only other absentee with a hamstring issue.
Nottingham Forest predicted XI: Verbruggen; Hinshelwood, Webster, Van Hecke, Estupinan; Baleba, Gomez; Minteh, Rutter, Mitoma; Pedro.
Brighton host Nottingham Forest in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday March 29th. Kick-off at the Amex Stadium is 17:15 GMT.
In the UK, the game will be televised live on BBC One.
