The Foxes have seen plenty of high-profile names depart as a result of their immediate relegation from the Premier League back into the Championship, whilst new manager, Marti Cifuentes, hasn't been able to make anywhere near as many incomings as perhaps hoped as we approach the final week of the summer transfer window.

Leicester have already bid farewell to the likes of Mads Hermansen, Wilfred Ndidi, Jamie Vardy, Conor Coady and now Kasey McAteer - who has moved to Ipswich Town - whilst exit talk still surrounds the likes of star playmakers, Bilal El Khannouss and Abdul Fatawu.

Kristiansen had previously been linked with a potential move to the City Ground earlier in the transfer window, and with Deadline Day on September 1st, the UEFA Europa League-bound club are plotting a late transfer raid on their East Midlands rivals.

Kristiansen joined Leicester in January 2023 for £17m from Danish Superliga outfit, FC Copenhagen, and has since gone on to make just 45 appearances for the Blues in that timeframe, as well as spending the club's title-winning season two campaigns ago on loan at Serie A side, Bologna.

The 18-time international, who is yet to feature for Leicester under Cifuentes after suffering an injury in pre-season, had been the subject of interest from Everton after his current employers' relegation back to the EFL was confirmed in April, before Fabrizio Romano revealed in early July that the 22-year-old was on Nuno Espírito Santo's radar as a potential signing at left-back.

Talk surrounding an exit for the Dane had chilled in recent weeks, but in a fresh update from Neil Moxley via GIVEMESPORT, it has been claimed that Forest have lodged an enquiry for Kristiansen's signature ahead of the upcoming transfer deadline, as Nuno looks to add further depth in his full-back department behind Neco Williams, who was exceptional last campaign.

The report also states that Leicester are looking to recoup some of the funds paid to Copenhagen for the defender's services under Brendan Rodgers. Although he is under contract at the King Power until the summer of 2028 and earning an ESTIMATED £25,000 per week in the process - as per Capology - their bitter rivals are hoping that a figure in the region of £10m would be enough to entice Kristiansen to the Trentside club as they gear towards a first European campaign for the first time in a generation.

Leicester City will hope to secure eight-figure deal despite making loss on Victor Kristiansen

Although it would still represent a major £7m loss on the initial fee paid to Copenhagen, the Foxes hierarchy would likely be somewhat satisfied if they were still able to recoup an eight-figure sum for Kristiansen's services, especially when factoring in the limited amount of times he has played for the club.

It would also allow Cifuentes to have further room to manouvre in the final days of the window in order to mould a competitive squad together after a fairly mediocre start to his reign and a slow-moving window, with Asmir Begovic the solitary incoming thus far.

However, it would also be a slight concern if Leicester are unable to source an immediate replacement. A departure would leave just Luke Thomas as a natural left-sided defender heading into an intense period of games between September and January, meaning that the club may have to spend adequate time weighing up an array of potential outcomes despite the fee which they could be set to bank.
