Nottingham Forest have opted to extend the contracts of goalkeepers Emily Batty and Georgie Ferguson by a further year.

The Tricky Trees announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.

Both players were out of contract this summer but the option to extend their deals has been exercised.

Long-serving keeper Batty was Nottingham Forest’s first-choice in-between the sticks last season. She was an ever-present as the East Midlands club won the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division title. Batty’s goal was breached just eight times in 22 matches as Nottingham Forest collected an impressive 18 league wins.

Youngster Ferguson has continued to develop at The City Ground and has provided some stern competition. She is very much one for the future at the club.

After extending Batty and Ferguson’s deals, Nottingham Forest head coach Carly Davies said “We are thrilled that Emily and Georgie have extended their stay with the Club.

“Emily’s leadership and consistency between the posts has been a pivotal part of our success. Georgie’s contributions both on and off the pitch reflect exactly the kind of player we value.

“I am excited to continue working with both players ahead of the new season in the WSL2.”

Further Nottingham Forest squad news will be revealed in due course.
