It’s no secret that Barcelona are struggling financially, and they will need to sell before they can buy this summer. The vast majority of Hansi Flick’s current squad will have offered listened to for them, but one player that certainly does not fall into this category is Lamine Yamal.

The 16-year-old has been a sensation for the Catalans over the last 12 months – to the point that not only is he a regular for them, but he’s also a nailed starter for Spain. He’s also currently impressing at Euro 2024.

Earlier this year, Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed that a bid of €200m for Lamine Yamal had been rejected. The club was not named, although it was found out to be Paris Saint-Germain. The French champions have the teenager as an ideal replacement for Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe, although they won’t have it easy to sign him.

As per MD, Barcelona believe that PSG may submit an offer of €250m in the coming weeks, although that would be turned down too. The club’s stance is clear: he is not for sale under any circumstances.

That’s not to say that PSG have no chance. Lamine Yamal has a €1bn release clause, so they could pay that to initial negotiations with the player’s camp. However, that should not be a possibility, thankfully for Barcelona.
