Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has vowed his side will not set out to park the bus against Arsenal.

The newly promoted side travel to the Emirates on Saturday having beaten Everton in their first game back in the Premier League.

Arsenal, meanwhile, were victorious against Manchester United.

And Farke is aware of the size of the task ahead, but has urged his players to be positive in their approach.

“We know with their signings and the quality they already had before, it’s a tough test and we have to be at our very best to give ourselves a chance,” Farke said on Arsenal.

“I don’t want to speak too much about it in advance because I’m pretty sure our next opponent will follow what I say in public.

“But again, we won’t sell our DNA this Premier League season. It’s not like we will just try to park the bus and just put the ball in the stands.

“If you just concentrate on trying to defend 90 or 95, 96 mins, you have no chance to survive.

“You also have to control the ball, when you can recover possession, and let them shift and waste some energy.

“I think it’s also important to try to create chances and to scare them and to be dangerous ourselves, to play positive football and try to create chances and score goals.

“Of course there will be periods in the game where we suffer and when we have to be well structured and really as a compact unit against the ball.

“I don’t expect us to have as much possession as for example in the first half against Everton when you travel away to Arsenal but we will try it and if the game develops in another direction then we have to show our defensive steel and also the behaviour we’ve shown in pre-season and the first game, that we can defend our goal.”

Leeds will be without captain Ethan Ampadu for the game, however, after suffering an injury against Everton.
