Celtic are yet to make a bid for Lennon Miller, according to his dad Lee. The Scottish Champions have been keen on the talented midfielder with an approach in January rebuffed; however, this interest was expected to be reignited this summer.

Reports have indicated that Celtic remained interested in the player but have yet to make an offer, the ex-Aberdeen attacker confirmed that stance after the SPFL Premiership fixtures were announced.

“He’s back to Motherwell on Monday. Nothing has happened as yet. Yes, there’s speculation and talk on Twitter etc but it’s a different club every day.

“It’s quite funny watching it and seeing how it’s progressing but essentially nobody has made any bids for him.

“Yes, he would like to further his career down the line but we’ll just need to see what happens.”

Miller Snr will be advising his son to make the best possible move at this stage in his development. A move to Celtic could work out like Stuart Armstrong or Ryan Christie, who moved to the club continued their development and then moved to England. Although, for that example, there will be those that point to David Turnbull’s transfer.

The Motherwell star is in the final year of his contract, meaning that the Fir Park club will be encouraged to sell this summer. Celtic will need to pay upwards of £5m for the player but given his abundance of qualities, that does not seem unreasonable. The benefits to a player like Miller are tenfold, especially with the risk of losing Reo Hatate.

It will be an interesting one to watch this summer but you feel that if Celtic wait, they may end up losing out on the player with interest mounting from England and abroad.
