Nico Paz has refused to rule out a return to Real Madrid but has confessed he is “very happy” and “focused” on Como, after a strong 2024-25 season saw the Argentine linked with a move back to his old club or with Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking in an interview with Spanish outlet Sport, via SOSFanta, Paz described Como as “a great team, with good staff and we are in a really beautiful city and environment.”

The Argentine also described former club Madrid as “the club that gave me everything” and said “you never know” when asked if he would return to the Spanish capital.

During the interview, Paz was asked to talk about his head coach Cesc Fabregas. The Argentine said that “It is crucial for players our age to join a team where the coach believes in you,” Paz continued, “where you are a necessity for the coach and not just an asset to the club. I learn a lot from him; he was one of the best players in the world and he is someone who helps me a lot to continue growing and make the most of this important stage of my career.”

A number of rumours have surrounded Nico Paz’s future this summer, with speculation most recently linking the player with a move to the Premier League. Tottenham have been touted as suitors for the Argentine and have had a bid reportedly rejected already.

Asked about the future, Paz replied “There will always be a lot of rumours but I am calm and focused on Como. A very important season is about to start and we can achieve great things. I can’t wait to play the first match of the season to show the world what Como are capable of. I am very excited.”

Como’s season kicks off on Saturday when they host Sudtirol in the First Round of Coppa Italia.
