Newcastle United players arrive back to start pre-season preparations today.
Here below is a focus on major upcoming NUFC milestones.
The clock ticking ever louder
Counting down the days before we reach key Newcastle United moments, both pre-season and once it all kicks off.
Time to focus the mind and prepare.
No need to panic BUT amazing how quickly time passes…
Number of days until these Newcastle United moments happen (as at Monday 7 July 2025):
0 days until NUFC begin pre-season training, the Newcastle United players back from today, though some who have been on international duty this summer, reportedly given a little extra time off.
2 days until the Premier League and broadcasters will announce their TV selections and changed times/dates for PL games in August (we already know the opening day match against Villa has been moved) and September. This date (Wednesday 9 July) is though given now as ‘approximate’, so the authorities aren’t even pretending to be sticking for sure to their intended dates to tell us of the changes throughout the season.
12 days until the first pre-season friendly, Celtic v Newcastle on Saturday 19 July.
15 days(*) until Newcastle United will fly-off for their pre-season friendlies in Singapore and South Korea (*This is a best guess, I would think this the latest the NUFC squad would depart to acclimatise etc with the Arsenal friendly just five days later).
20 days until Arsenal v Newcastle pre-season friendly (National Stadium, Singapore) on Sunday 27 July.
23 days until Team K League v Newcastle pre-season friendly (Suwon World Cup Stadium, South Korea) on Wednesday 30 July.
27 days until Tottenham v Newcastle pre-season friendly (Seoul World Cup Stadium, South Korea) on Sunday 3 August
32 days until first St James’ Park pre-season friendly, Newcastle v RCD Espanyol on Friday 8 August
33 days until sixth and final NUFC pre-season friendly, Newcastle v Atletico Madrid on Saturday 9 August
40 days until first NUFC Premier League match of the season – Aston Villa v Newcastle on Saturday 16 August
52 days until the draw is made on Thursday 28 August for the league stage of the 2025/26 Champions League
56 days until Summer transfer window closes at 7pm on Monday 1 September
71 days until Matchday 1 of the league stage of the 2025/26 Champions League (These matches to be played across Tuesday 16, Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 September 2025)
