If the right outcome happens on Sunday 16 March 2025… the Newcastle United squad will be heading to Dubai rather than the streets of Tyneside.

At least some of the Newcastle United squad anyway.

There would be no open top bus celebrations in the days following the Wembley final if United lift their first trophy in 56 years, their first domestic silverware in 70 years.

Instead, the bulk of the Newcastle United squad will be in Dubai.

Whilst many United stars will be spread around the globe representing their countries.

This is due to the change in the football calendar, the Carabao Cup final played weeks later than normal, immediately before the March internationals.

The Mail report that after the Carabao Cup final, whilst various NUFC players link up with their national squads, the bulk of the Newcastle United squad are heading to Dubai for a warm weather break.

So a proper full on open top bus celebration around the streets of Tyneside would likely have to wait until the end of the season, the report concludes.

Immediately following the final, the bulk of the Newcastle United squad and coaching staff celebrating a trophy win (if it happens) in Dubai, whilst thousands of miles away the Newcastle fans celebrating in the Toon.

The Mail saying that their information is that the Newcastle United squad (who aren’t on international duty) will be heading to the NAS Sports Complex in Dubai for warm weather training.

If the right result happens at Wembley, the next home match is set to be Brentford on Wednesday 2 April, though the Premier League TV live games and changes haven’t been announced for April yet. That announcement is supposedly going to be happen by tomorrow (Friday 28 February) at the latest.

However, if United beat Brighton on Sunday AND get a home draw in the quarters, then the game immediately following the Dubai trip and internationals AND potential Carabao Cup trophy win, would be on the weekend of Saturday 29 March. With potentially the trophy paraded around the pitch you would imagine.

All we need to do is actually win it!
