The 25-year-old is now being linked with a move to the Premier League. And one former Premier League striker has offered some interesting advice.

Newcastle transfer news: Morten Hjulmand tipped for Newcastle or Aston Villa switch

According to the latest Newcastle transfer news via Sport Witness, Nicklas Bendtner has tipped his fellow countryman Morten Hjulmand for a move to either Newcastle United or Aston Villa.

Speaking on the Stolpe Ind podcast, Bendtner praised Hjulmand’s rise in recent years. He said the midfielder has proven his quality both in the national team and for Sporting Lisbon. And now, the former Arsenal striker believes Hjulmand is ready for a move to the Premier League. Bendtner said;

"You want to play in a team that wins. I feel like he can play in the Premier League or Spanish football. He could enter the field hand in hand with Diego Simeone at Atletico. But I also see him fitting in perfectly in the Newcastle midfield. They have a crazy dynamic, the three boys. He could be an asset at Aston Villa too."

This statement from Bendtner will surely catch the attention of Newcastle fans. Especially as Sporting are reportedly open to offers for their midfielder this summer.

Newcastle’s midfield has struggled with injuries this season. With Sandro Tonali still serving a suspension and questions around long-term depth, bringing in a player like Hjulmand makes sense.

He is known for his energy, technical ability, and versatility. And under Eddie Howe, he could develop even further. But Newcastle are not the only club in the race. Morten Hjulmand to Aston Villa is also a possibility, with Unai Emery a big admirer of the player.

Atletico Madrid are also in the mix, but the chance to play in the Premier League might appeal more to the Danish midfielder. And if Newcastle qualify for Europe next season, it could be the decisive factor in this race.

We will keep an eye on this Newcastle transfer news about Morten Hjulmand to Newcastle and how this battle with Aston Villa unfolds.
