Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of midfielder Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa.
The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at St James’ Park, bringing an end to his long spell with Villa, the club he joined as a youngster and for whom he went on to make 167 senior appearances.

It’s reported that the Magpies will pay an initial £39m, with the fee potentially rising by another £4m in performance-related add-ons.
Ramsey becomes Newcastle’s fourth arrival of the summer, following winger Anthony Elanga, goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and centre-back Malick Thiaw.
The move comes just a day after Villa and Newcastle played out a goalless draw in their Premier League opener at Villa Park.
