After 13 years in charge, President Maurizio Setti officially completed the sale of Hellas to Texas-based private equity firm Presidio Investors.

This morning, the club announced the new Board of Directors, with Zanzi as Executive President, joined by Christian Puscasiu, Dirk Swaneveld, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Donata Hopfen and Isabella Thun.

“It is a great honour to be part of a club and a city with such great history and potential,” Zanzi told Sky Sport Italia.

“Verona was a choice we studied carefully. We are talking about a club, a city and a group that has everything it takes to achieve success.

“Consistency is important for us, and it might not be very common in the world of football, but it is something we believe in.”

This is reflected in the fact that Setti and director general Sean Sogliano will remain for at least a few more months, helping to work out the transfer strategy for the January window.

“We are learning all the time from those who already did great work here. We don’t just want to help grow the club, but everything around Verona.”

Zanzi and other members of the board also met with the Mayor of Verona this week, who just happens to be former Hellas, Roma and Italy midfielder Damiano Tommasi.
