As reported by Bild, negotiations between Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart for the transfer of Nick Woltemade have been put on hold.
It had previously been reported that Der Rekordmeister considered the German U21 international to be their number one transfer target this summer, leading the Bundesliga champions to agree to personal terms with the 23-year-old.
However, over the past 48 hours, Bayern increased their offer to Woltemade in hopes that the striker would look to force his way out of Stuttgart.
Nevertheless, this attempt to get the transfer over the line by the record champions has been unsuccessful, and with Die Roten valuing Woltemade at €80 million, negotiations have been put on hold.
Bayern remain reluctant to offer over €50 million, €30 million less than what the Swabian outfit are demanding.
Despite this, a move for the striker is certainly not off the table.
According to the report, Bayern will wait until their Club World Cup campaign has come to an end before they re-enter negotiations, while Stuttgart will use this time to reach an internal agreement over the fee they would allow Woltemade to depart for.
