Serie A champions Napoli are now accelerating their move for Sevilla defender Juanlu Sanchez.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report today that with doubts emerging about Pasquale Mazzocchi’s future in Naples, Giovanni Manna is ready to move for a right-back.

They do not want to delay a move for the Spaniard anymore as we are approaching August. So far, Napoli’s offer has been at €17 million including bonuses. Sevilla demand €20 million butt the Partenopei will now operate with renewed efforts.

The 21-year-old is keen on the move and Manna held detailed discussions with Sevilla some weeks ago before slowing down. The club believe that Giovanni di Lorenzo cannot play every game anymore and would need a player at right-back who can rotate regularly and Sanchez is a good fit for Antonio Conte’s system.

Napoli have stalled the move earlier as they wanted to focus on other targets. Now, the time is ripe.
