Former Roma boss Jose Mourinho is set to pen a new deal in his long-standing coaching career.

This time, the Special One is projected to take over coaching duties in Turkey.

This will mark Mourinho’s first experience in the Turkish Super Lig.

As reported on Friday afternoon, the Portuguese technician has agreed to a 2-year contract with Fenerbahce.

After being dismissed by Roma in January, Mourinho waited a few months before deciding on a new project that will see him lead the team that finished the season with 99 points, just behind this year’s Turkish champions, Galatasaray.

According to Il Messaggero, a big part of Mourinho’s decision came down to wanting to coach a roster of experienced, veteran players.

This would entail a reunion with former Roma man Edin Dzeko whom Mourinho never got to coach despite the two had shared a couple of weeks together at Trigoria.

Upon Mourinho’s arrival, Dzeko seemed to be convinced of the Giallorossi’s project with the Special One at the helm.

However, after only a couple of weeks, the Bosnian striker, now 38 years old, decided to accept Inter’s offer and move to Milan instead.

This will be Mourinho’s first real chance to coach the legendary Giallorossi player who concluded his time at Roma with 260 appearances, 119 goals and 54 assists.

Following Dzeko’s unexpected departure from Roma, the capital club decided on Tammy Abraham as his replacement.
