Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera has reached a personal agreement with Arsenal, bringing a switch to the Premier League side significantly closer.
Arsenal have been engaged in negotiations for the 21-year-old centre-back - and now another crucial step in the process has been finalised.
The Gunners have been targeting a young defensive recruit to provide competition for first-choice pairing William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.
Mosquera is capable of operating both centrally and on the right side of defence, and he is expected to help cover the void left by Takehiro Tomiyasu, who recently parted ways with the club by mutual consent.
The Spain Under-21 international has featured 90 times for Valencia and was a near ever-present in the 2024–25 campaign, completing 90 minutes in 37 of their 38 La Liga fixtures.
Arsenal have been proactive in this summer’s transfer window, already securing deals for Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, Christian Norgaard from Brentford, and Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea.
The North London outfit are also closing in on a transfer for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres and aim to finalise the €73.5 million (£63.5 million) deal within the next 24 hours.
