Morocco Boss Skeptical Ahead of Crucial CHAN Opener vs Angola
Morocco’s local national team coach Tarik Sektioui has labelled the upcoming clash against Angola as decisive step in the squad’s journey at the 2025 African Nations Championship CHAN.
Speaking at press conference on Saturday, Sektioui praised Angola as tactically stable team with long term leadership under the same coach making them serious title contenders.
The Moroccan coach also revealed that his side has undergone full rebuild after losing 11 key players to overseas moves forcing quick assembly of new look squad.
"The opening match's always crucial in continental tournaments. We have 2 clear goals: qualify from the group stage and win the CHAN title" Sektioui stressed.
Despite having less than week to prepare Sektioui noted visible progress among the recently integrated players while highlighting the squad’s strong fighting spirit.
"We respect all opponents but we'll fight on the pitch. If we must die on the field, we will. If we must outrun our rivals, we will. If we must win, then we'll win" he declared.
He concluded by affirming the squad’s technical quality & stressing the importance of building cohesion to achieve their ultimate goal lifting the CHAN trophy.
