Morgan Gibbs-White signs new Nottingham Forest deal in blow to Tottenham | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest have announced that Morgan Gibbs-White has signed a new three-year deal with the club. It comes as a blow to Tottenham, who had been confident of signing the England international this summer.

The 24-year-old played a pivotal role in Forest’s best top-flight campaign since 1994/95, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists to help secure European football.

The Forest midfielder has penned a new deal that commits his future to the City Ground until 2028, with the club competing in the Europa League next season following Crystal Palace’s demotion to the Conference League.

Gibbs-White told the official club website: “I’ve felt at home at Forest from the moment I arrived. The support from the fans, my teammates, and everyone around the club has been unbelievable.

“I believe in what we’re building here – and with the backing of Mr Marinakis and the enormous ambition he has, I want to be part of making something special. I’m excited for what’s to come.”

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis added: “Morgan is a special player – not just in terms of talent, but character and mentality. He represents everything we want this football club to be: he is a winner, talented, ambitious, fearless, and proud.

Having missed the first part of Forest’s pre-season camp in Portugal due to a private family matter, Gibbs-White joined up with the rest of the squad and was named as a substitute in Saturday’s match against Fulham.
