93' - ACERBI'S LATE EQUALISER

Inter are 3-2 down. The rain is coming down at San Siro, where Barcelona are on the verge of the final. The 93rd minute begins and Yamal once again bursts forward before hitting the post from distance. Inter are still just about in the match, with five minutes having been added on. Acerbi pushes forward, taking up the position of an out-and-out striker. Dumfries is still full of energy and gets the better of Gerard Martin down the right. The Dutchman plays in a low ball. Acerbi, like a seasoned centre-forward, beats Araujo to it and lets fly with his right foot. It goes in. What follows is unbridled joy: Acerbi takes off his shirt, the team embrace him, San Siro erupts. But it's still far from over.

99' - FRATTESI'S WINNER

First half of extra time: Thuram breaks down the wing, leaving Araujo behind, and squares it to Taremi, who lays it off for Frattesi. The midfielder takes a touch, hesitates just enough to throw the defender off and slots it in with his left foot to make it 4-3. Pandemonium at the Meazza. Frattesi goes wild, just like the entire stadium. He sprints towards the yellow security fence - the same one he climbed after scoring in Inter vs. Hellas back in January 2024. Lautaro joins him, the captain screaming with joy. Inter have scored.

SOMMER'S SAVES

Monstrous. Superman. Unbelievable. What Yann Sommer produced in this match was a true masterpiece. Outrageous, decisive, vital saves. At the final whistle, the crowd thanked him with roaring chants. At 2-1, he denied Eric Garcia: the goal was at the Barcelona player's mercy as he directed the ball towards it with his right foot. Everyone thought the visitors had equalised, but Yann had other ideas. Then, throughout the match, there was his personal duel with Yamal. Fingertips to keep out an effort heading into the top corner, and then the stop at 3-3 in the final seconds of added time. And, finally, THAT remarkable save in the second half of extra time, an intervention verging on the impossible. Exceptional.

122' - THE FINAL WHISTLE

Two minutes of added time. Inter vs. Barcelona feels like it will never end. The referee extends the match - there’s still suffering to endure. The entire stadium holds its breath, constantly checking to see how long is left. Inzaghi and the whole bench are on edge, waiting for the whistle. Every ball is being desperately fought for, and then... the final whistle arrives. So many hugs, so many emotions. Dimarco drops to his knees. Inter are in the final.
