Mohamed Salah reveals advice he received from Arsene Wenger | OneFootball

Mohamed Salah has detailed a conversation he had with former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger during which the French coach offered some excellent advice to the Liverpool forward.

Egypt's talented playmaker has become one of the most feared figures in the Premier League during his seven years at Anfield, scoring over 200 goals in 366 appearances for the Reds. His skill on the pitch has established his status as one of the best wingers in world football, sitting only behind Bukayo Saka in league assists so far this season.

While Salah has worked under some legendary coaches such as Jurgen Klopp - who departed the Merseyside outfit earlier this year - it's the words of a rival boss that have cemented a place in his mind.

"I got advice from Arsene Wenger before," he recently told Liverpool's media channel. "He was at Melwood [Liverpool's training ground] at that time, then I asked him what's the difference between a good player and a really good player.

"He said, 'I think the very, very good player is always focused on the game. Even if he doesn't have the momentum, he stays in the game until the last minute or until the whistle'.

"So that's, I think for me, I know there's some games I don't have momentum, I don't have the game. But I'm always focused on the game to finish stuff. I always find the moment. I'm not always very good in the game. It's normal we're still human."

That sense of never letting a match pass him by has been abundantly clear this season. Eight of Salah's ten goals have been scored in the second half, with half of them coming in the final 20 minutes of matches.
