Mohamed Salah is officially in the top 10 Premier League goalscorers of all time. But just where could the Liverpool star end up?

Mohamed Salah scored Liverpool's equaliser against Arsenal on Saturday and with that came his 151st Premier League goal. That means Salah is out on his own as the 10th top-scorer in the competition's history.

The Egyptian had been level on 150 with Michael Owen but moved past the former Liverpool striker to sit on his own in 10th. It's yet another incredible milestone for Salah, who continues to absolutely demolish the expectations set on him when he moved to Anfield in 2017.

But just how high could Salah end up?

Salah will now have his eyes on 9th position in the all-time rankings. That's currently held by Jermaine Defoe on 162 goals, so only 11 ahead of Liverpool's winger.

Though 8th-place Robbie Fowler is on 163 so if Salah can catch Defoe, he can catch God.

That could technically come this season but there is a wrinkle there. Salah will depart for the Africa Cup of Nations next month, taking him out for part of the season. It may also affect his ability to be at his best post-tournament, as we saw back in 2022.

Then there's the other 'catch' - will he remain at Anfield beyond this season? The Saudi Pro League wants him but we'll work on the idea that Salah stays at Liverpool.

If he does, 8th place will be his in a year's time at the latest. Then comes 7th. That's Thierry henry on 175, with Frank Lampard just two ahead of him.

Salah is therefore 26 goals from 6th place - a figure he can absolutely meet by the end of next season. It would take his worst season yet in order to fail.

Beyond that? Sergio Aguero is fifth and has 184 goals to his name. Andrew Cole is 4th on 187. Two 'normal' seasons for Salah would see him get the 36 necessary goals to hit that mark.

The questions are whether he'll still be at Liverpool and when he'll start to slow down. There aren't any signs that he will this year or the next - and Cole's fourth place could be up for grabs.
