Milan wouldn’t abandon the idea of bringing in an elite attacker even if Marcus Rashford opted to go elsewhere and have set sights on Joao Felix, who’s not a full-time starter at Chelsea. Sergio Conceiçao would surely be in favor of the signing, as he’d have a new versatile weapon at his disposal, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs (via Calciomercato).
The Rossoneri would be looking to replicate the Christian Pulisic deal, onboarding a player who’s still young-ish and eager to bounce back. They have conducted a lot of business with Chelsea in recent years.
Milan would pursue an initial loan for Joao Felix. He’s represented by Jorge Mendes, like their new coach and other players attached to them as of late. Signing him over Rashford would allow them to add Kyle Walker too.
The 25-year-old has recorded 7 goals and 2 assists in 19 matches this campaign, but most of his production has come in the Conference League. He has started in just three Premier League fixtures, coming off the bench on eight occasions.
Chelsea acquired him for €52M in a swap with Atletico Madrid involving Conor Gallagher. In addition to Los Colchoneros, he starred for Barcelona and Benfica earlier in his career. He has 45 caps and 9 goals with Portugal.
Signing somebody who operates more centrally than on the wings would be a swell idea, and they have had success with outcasts from Premier League sides. In any case, they should prioritize players they’ll have a shot at keeping permanently. The salary is a lot more manageable in this case.
