The Toon teenagers raced into a three-goal lead before the half-time break at Rockliffe Park courtesy of strikes from Matheos Ferreira, Joe Brayson and Henry Johnson.
Eric Hamelberg reduced the deficit for Boro in the second-half before Brayson, son of former Magpies striker Paul, restored United's three-goal cushion in the closing stages, the 17-year-old forward's ninth strike of the season in all competitions at under-18 level.
Finley O'Gorman's penalty in the final minutes would only prove a mere consolation as Chris Moore's side moved into seventh place of the Under-18 Premier League North, who face an away trip to Derby County in their next league fixture on Saturday, 1st February (kick-off 1pm GMT).
