Former Lazio, Chelsea and Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is likely to replace Thiago Motta, if he leaves Bologna in the summer.
The Rossoneri have already sealed qualification for the Champions League for the first time in history and they are looking to make decisions about the futures of players and Motta himself.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TMW) state that apart from Juve, Motta also interests Manchester United. After Bologna’s next game against Juve themselves, club owner Joey Saputo will have a face-to-face meeting with Motta about his future at the club.
The Rossoblu’s idea is that if Motta leaves, Sarri would be signed as a replacement. Vincenzo Italiano and Raffaele Palladino are also on the shortlist but Sarri is currently leading the race. Bologna’s target is that if Sarri joins the club, he would be handed a significant amount of control over transfers and they have already come up with profiles that they can sign in the summer.
