Bayern Munich star could be at centre of transfer tug-of-war between London rivals
Mathys Tel could be at the centre transfer tug-of-war in the final days of the January window after leading Premier League clubs were offered the chance to sign him.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are among those interested in Tel, with Manchester United also said to be in the race for the 19-year-old Bayern Munich forward.
Bayern have confirmed Tel wants to leave and he appeared to wave goodbye to Bayern fans after their Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday.
Here, Standard Sport examines the best destination for a player who was once described by then Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic as “one of the biggest talents in Europe”.

Arsenal are at that stage in the window where they just desperately need a body after injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.
Tel would be a sensible solution, given he can operate out wide and through the middle.

He also suits Arsenal’s model of targeting young players that have room to improve.
If a loan move could be struck, that would be ideal for Arsenal as it would not block them off targeting a big-name signing in attack this summer.
Tel offers creativity and pace, which are two qualities Arsenal’s attacking play has lacked recently.

Chelsea enquired about Tel earlier this month at the same time as Christopher Nkunku was being heavily linked with Bayern Munich and their interest pre-dates the current window.
The teenager would clearly fit a recruitment model that has been targeting the best young talent across Europe and Enzo Maresca is another manager who values versatility across the front line.
While Chelsea have not struggled for goals across the course of the season, their attack could perhaps use an injection this month; Nicolas Jackson has gone seven games without a league goal, while Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto have contributed just three between them all term.

There remain doubts about the futures of Nkunku and Joao Felix heading into the final days of the window, while Mykhailo Mudryk is currently suspended.
Where the Blues may struggle is in offering Tel as many guarantees about first-team football, assuming the Frenchman would not be coming to Cobham to play primarily in the Conference League.

Tottenham favour versatile attackers and, as a two-footed forward who can play across the front line, Tel fits the bill.
Spurs could offer him plenty of minutes in the second half of the season, even after Dominic Solanke returns to fitness, and if they could sign him permanently or on loan with an option, he would be another exciting young player on the club's books.
But for all his obvious talent, Tel is just 19 and it would be unfair to expect a player who has started just nine top-flight matches to immediately transform Spurs' season.
“With our current situation, the last thing I want to do is throw in another young player,” head coach Ange Postecoglou said on Wednesday.
Ultimately, Tel would have to be considered another investment for Spurs rather than a short-term solution.
