The Premier League have confirmed the list of match officials to oversee proceedings between Wolves and Manchester City on matchday one of the new campaign.
Pep Guardiola and his players will be desperate to get their new season off to the perfect start as they face a tricky opening away encounter at Molineux off the back of their commitments at the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this summer and in pre-season.
The Etihad’s first-team squad took on an extended period of rest off the back of the tournament in the United States and their early exit at the hands of Al Hilal, before resuming match action with pre-season friendlies against Preston North End and Palermo.
Guardiola and his coaching staff will be hoping that the refresh over the summer and the new faces drafted into the squad by sporting director Hugo Viana will be enough to get an early three points in the bag and offer some optimism for the rest of the campaign.
Ahead of the meeting between Wolves and Manchester City, the Premier League have now announced the list of match officials to oversee proceedings at Molineux!
The Premier League have confirmed that Jarred Gillett will take up the position of on-field match referee for Manchester City’s opening fixture of the brand new season on Saturday evening.
As confirmed by the Premier League, Scott Ledger and Marc Perry have been appointed as assistant referees for Manchester City’s trip to Molineux.
Taking up positions in the VAR Hub at Stockley Park, the Premier League have appointed Michael Salisbury as the Video Assistant Referee, while Richard West will be the game’s Assistant Video Assistant Referee.
Standing between the two dugouts at Molineux and overseeing matters involving Wolves’ Vitor Pereira and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola will be fourth official David Webb, the Premier League have confirmed.
