Liverpool want Alexander Isak and a major development is just hours away. The Reds want to make this happen.
It's no secret that Liverpool want to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. Newcastle just don't want to sell their star player - not even for a British transfer record.

The Magpies may be forced to do so, however. Isak is reportedly pushing for an exit, with Liverpool his preferred destination.
He's an incredibly valuable player and one Newcastle can't really afford to mess around with. Cashing in at that extraordinarily high price may simply be the best way to go about things.
Liverpool certainly hope that's the direction Newcastle go in. Isak does, too. Everyone is waiting to see what the Magpies do - and we should get an answer very soon.
Sacha Tavolieri tells Sky Sports that Liverpool will contact Newcastle in the next few hours to tell them a written offer is on its way. This is essentially the Reds preparing for talks.
In other words, they're hoping to negotiate. Liverpool's first offer will supposedly be at around £100m. That would equal what they spent on Florian Wirtz this summer but we can't imagine Newcastle will accept.
Instead, it's an offer to begin proper talks - something Newcastle either reject outright or give a counter to. The suggestion is that Liverpool hope to land at around £120m through some sort of package.
