Mason Mount has had a torrid time since arriving at Manchester United, but a goal to open the scoring against Brentford could be exactly what the doctor ordered.
Once billed as one of the nation's best during his emergence at Chelsea, the 26-year-old moved to Old Trafford at the beginning of the 2023/24 season, but a combination of a rash of injuries and uncertainty at the club has seen his career trajectory hit a wall.
Mount had managed just a single goal for the Red Devils in 41 appearances before this afternoon, and now with his second after a 28-match goal drought, he breaks his nearly year-long goal duck in the process.
Given that his last and only previous goal for United also came against the Bees in this same fixture, he's surely wishing they squared off against each other at the Gtech Stadium more often.
