According to a report from L’Équipe, Olympique de Marseille are interested in bringing Chelsea fullback Renato Veiga (21) to the South of France.
The French outlet writes that Chelsea are open to a departure for a player who only joined the club last summer on a seven-year contract from FC Basel. The Premier League side would like a six-month loan with a mandatory purchase clause.
Veiga has been used as a rotation player since arriving in London. Head coach Enzo Maresca has fielded the fullback predominantly in cup competitions where he has played the entirety of the club’s Europa Conference League campaign. In the Premier League, it has been a very different story as Veiga has only made one start in his seven appearances.
However, despite a somewhat difficult transition from Basel to Chelsea, interest in the Portuguese international has remained high. L’Équipe writes that Marseille staff love Veiga’s profile.
