Red Devils missing host of key players through injury
Manchester United are unlikely to recover any of their injured players for Sunday’s FA Cup clash against Fulham.
United host Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, looking to progress into the quarter-finals of the competition they are defending.
Unfortunately for manager Ruben Amorim, however, the Red Devils seem destined to continue with the same squad who played as United beat Ipswich 3-2 on Wednesday night, albeit this time without the suspended Patrick Dorgu.
None of Luke Shaw, Altay Bayindir, Mason Mount, Toby Collyer, Kobbie Mainoo or Jonny Evans are expected to return for Sunday’s game.
Amad Diallo and Lisandro Martinez, meanwhile, will not play again this season. The Argentine could be facing an even longer out of action following a serious knee injury.
Speaking about his injured players on Friday, Amorim said: “Nobody different is back. They are still trying to recover for the next games."
With usual cup goalkeeper Bayindir out of action, Andre Onana will almost certainly start in goal. Diogo Dalot could replace the suspended Dorgu at left-back, meaning Noussair Mazraoui may come in on the right.
Elsewhere, the team largely picks itself given the lack of available options. Dorgu for Mazraoui aside, it looks as a case of as you were from the Ipswich game. Young striker Chido Obi could feature, though is likely to start on the bench.
