After having failed to land their top transfer target, Nico Williams, in the last summer transfer window, FC Barcelona are once again looking to strengthen their left wing in the next summer transfer window.

For this purpose, the Blaugranes have already been linked with several high-profile players. One such player is the Portuguese winger Rafael Leao, while Nico Williams also remains linked with the Catalan club.

Another top-class winger who has been associated with Barcelona for quite some time now is the Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

It is looking increasingly unlikely that the Georgian star will arrive at a renewal agreement with the Italian side, and thus several top European sides, including Barcelona, are looking to incorporate him into their squad in the next summer transfer window.

One of the main impediments keeping Kvaratskhelia from reaching an agreement with Napoli is his low wage, as currently, he is getting only a measly €1.2 million from the Partenopean side.

The Italians have offered up to €6 million to the winger in a new proposal, including bonuses, but have also made it clear that they will not be offering anything above this sum.

According to SPORT, several top clubs are looking to take advantage of the situation, including Manchester United, who are willing to offer a five-year contract to the player with wages of €8 million net per year, and some easily achievable bonuses.

This offer from the Red Devils is close to the one that Kvaratskhelia’s agent got from Paris Saint Germain back in the summer, which was valued at €10 million.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are aware of these developments taking place around the Georgian, but they are yet to make a firm move for his acquisition.

They are hesitant to take such a step without setting a maximum price beforehand, as they understand the Napoli President, Aurelio de Laurentiis, to be an unpredictable negotiator.

Furthermore, the Catalans are also unwilling to offer €80 million, Kvaratskhelia’s reported minimum transfer fee, for a player whose contract is ending in two years. Thus, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona will advance their efforts to sign the winger in the coming months.
