Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a move for Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara this summer.
United are set for a very busy transfer window, following an extremely poor 2024/25 season that saw them finish a lowly 15th place in the Premier League, having suffered 18 defeats.
A number of positions are in need of strengthening to ensure Ruben Amorim has the tools necessary to make the team a competitive outfit once again.
Following confirmation of Christian Eriksen’s departure and with uncertainty surrounding the future of Casemiro, the midfield is an area of the pitch United could look to bolster.
The Red Devils continue to be linked to a number of midfielders including Ederson (Atalanta), Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace), Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace), Xavi Simons (RB Leipzig) and Hayden Hackney (Middlesbrough), just to mention a few names.
According to Turkish news outlet Fotomac, United have added another name to their wishlist: Gabriel Sara.
Fotomac claims that United and Serie A’s Inter Milan have become the latest “huge suitors” to register an interest in Sara.
Sara only made the switch to Galatasaray from Norwich last summer, meaning he already has a taste of English football under his belt.
He made 96 appearances for Norwich, racking up an impressive 21 goals and 17 assists.
In his maiden campaign in Turkey, Sara managed two goals and 10 assists in 45 games across all competitions.
Fotomac explain that Sara won’t come cheap, with Galatasaray looking for €30m. They forked out €18m to secure his services from Norwich.
A dynamic and versatile midfielder, Sara thrives in a box-to-box role and would inject much-needed energy into a United side that often looked vulnerable and outmatched last season.
His contract with Galatasaray runs until 2029.
