Ruben Amroim dealt major injury worry after defeat to Crystal Palace
Manchester United endured another miserable day at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Crystal Palace beat United 2-0 at the Theatre of Dreams, condemning Ruben Amorim’s side to a fifth home defeat in six Premier League games.
Amorim is struggling to string any kind of consistency together, leaving United 13th in the Premier League table.
Indeed, Sunday also brought about a fresh injury as Lisandro Martinez was stretchered off the pitch towards the closing stages.
Here’s a look at the latest Manchester United injuries...
Martinez left the pitch in tears after a coming together with Palace forward Ismaila Sarr.
After the game, Amorim said: “We are going to see in the next days but I think it is a serious situation. He is not only a great player but a strong character in the dressing room. He felt it and when you are a player, you know when it is something serious. We are here to help him in this difficult moment like he has helped us."
Potential return date: Unknown
England international Luke Shaw is finally back in United training but won’t be rushed back into action.
Speaking before the Palace game, Amorim said: “I think he needs to train more, to spend more time with his team-mates playing even like normal, small-sided games, not just working alone.
“He stayed there [at Carrington] to make a different type of work, he’s going to get together with the team when we arrive and start from there. When I feel it is the right moment, we will start with some minutes in the games.”
Potential return date: February/March 2025

Midfielder Mason Mount has endured a nightmare time of things on the injury front since joining the Old Trafford giants from Chelsea.
Mount suffered a hamstring injury for United against Manchester City and has not featured since.
Amorim confirmed in January that Mount would take “a little bit longer” than Shaw to recover and his return date remains unclear.
Veteran Jonny Evans remains out with a muscle injury and is not yet clear when the Northern Irishman will return.
