Manchester United have a glorious opportunity to sign Victor Osimhen, given the lack of concrete offers from other Premier League clubs.

Given their desperate need for a new striker, Man United have long been linked with the Napoli frontman, with reports even suggesting that Man United may be perfectly positioned to sign him.

Still, there have been other elite clubs who have been linked with the Nigerian, including Chelsea, who were believed to be progressing in talks with the player.

Liverpool have also been linked with Osimhen, reportedly exploring a swap deal that could include the likes of Darwin Nunez or Federico Chiesa.

While such competition could threaten to wash away United’s hopes of signing Osimhen, it suddenly appears as if they are faced with less competition than previously expected.

This morning, Corriere dello Sport reported that no Premier League clubs have made an offer for Osimhen as of yet.

“Victor said no to Al Hilal, at least for now. Because he wasn’t in a hurry, because he didn’t want to join Simone Inzaghi’s team for the Club World Cup, because – deep down – he believes he can still expect something more from Europe, from his longed-for Premier League,” the report explained, suggesting that a move to a Premier League club would be a priority.

“From the Premier League, for now, all is quiet. There are those who are observing, those who have asked for information, but no one, at least for the moment, has come to knock with conviction on the doors of Napoli and the player,” the report claimed.

While it does seem as if there may be some movement on the player, with the article claiming that Galatasaray are not giving up on him, this would not be an ideal club for him, given the lack of Premier League football.

What’s more, The Peoples Person previously noted that the Turkish side is reportedly unable to fit the bill for the player, namely his €75 million (£64 million) release clause.

Should the report prove correct, then United would be all clear in their pursuit of Osimhen should they choose to pursue him.

What’s more, given his specified release clause, his transfer would be a done deal if United choose to pay it, thereby handing the club a competent striker.
