Manchester United are reportedly set to hold talks with Adrien Rabiot over a move.

Rabiot is currently available as a free agent after his contract with Juventus expired. The midfielder was unable to secure a move in the summer transfer window but is still attracting interest.

It’s thought that the Frenchman is eyeing a switch to the Premier League amidst overtures from Turkish outfits and the Saudi Pro League.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United’s new co-owners – INEOS – were contemplating signing Rabiot, in a move that would mark a break from their policy of only signing young players who are on the rise.

Rabiot will turn 30 soon.

Jeremy Cross of The Daily Star has given an update on United’s pursuit of Rabiot and indicated that he could still arrive at Old Trafford, with talks between his camp and the Red Devils set to take place.

According to Cross, “Manchester United’s hopes of luring Adrien Rabiot to Old Trafford on a free transfer have received a boost.”

“He has rejected offers to join Galatasaray and the Saudi Pro League, improving United’s chances of landing the French international midfielder.”

“It’s understood United bosses will hold talks with Rabiot, 29, as Erik ten Hag looks to strengthen his midfield options ahead of what will prove to be a long and demanding season.”

Rabiot came close to joining United in 2022 during Ten Hag’s first summer at the club.

It’s believed that a transfer fee had been agreed with  Juventus and John Murtough even travelled to Turin to seal the deal. However, Rabiot’s excessive wage demands eventually led to talks collapsing.

Last term, Rabiot made 31 Serie A appearances and in that time, registered five goals and three assists.
