Nicolas Jackson’s future at Chelsea remains in limbo, as interest from across Europe continues to mount. Despite a relatively modest return of 13 goals last season, the 24-year-old Senegalese striker is generating considerable attention, with clubs from Spain, Italy, and England all weighing up potential moves.
As Chelsea reshapes its attacking options, having already secured young talents like Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, Jackson’s departure seems increasingly likely. However, the Blues’ €50 million asking price is proving to be a point of contention. Several interested parties believe the fee is inflated, considering his modest goal tally for Chelsea. Yet, even with this valuation, Jackson’s future looks set to be one of the most talked-about transfers of the summer.
According to Caught Offside, Barcelona has emerged as a leading contender for Jackson’s signature. The Spanish giants are keen to bolster their attacking options and view Jackson as a suitable backup to Robert Lewandowski. With his prior La Liga experience at Villarreal, Jackson is seen as a seamless fit for Barcelona’s ongoing squad overhaul.

Sporting director Deco is expected to begin talks with Chelsea soon, with Barcelona proposing a one-year loan deal that includes an option to buy. Given Barcelona’s financial constraints, a loan deal would likely be their preferred approach, but Chelsea’s €50 million asking price could make negotiations tricky. Nevertheless, Barcelona’s interest signals their intent to strengthen their forward line, and Jackson’s potential arrival could provide valuable competition for Lewandowski.
Across the continent, both Juventus and Napoli have shown interest in the Senegalese forward. However, the Italian clubs have struggled to match Chelsea’s asking price. Napoli initially opened discussions but quickly pulled out of negotiations after securing the signing of Lorenzo Lucca, another forward. AC Milan also entered the fray but was unable to convince Jackson to leave the Premier League for Serie A.
This leaves Jackson’s future firmly in the hands of Premier League clubs. Newcastle United have shown interest, seeing Jackson as a solid backup for Alexander Isak. Aston Villa, too, has entered the conversation, with Unai Emery keen to reunite with the player he worked with at Villarreal. While Chelsea remains cautious about selling to domestic rivals, they are open to negotiations, provided the right price is agreed.
One key factor shaping Jackson’s future is his desire to remain in the Premier League. Despite interest from Serie A, Jackson has made it clear that he prefers to continue his career in England. This preference keeps the door open for clubs like Newcastle and Villa, both of whom would offer him the chance to play regularly in the English top flight.

Manchester United, meanwhile, has ramped up its scouting of Jackson, as the club looks to revamp its attacking options. With a shift in attacking strategy on the horizon, Jackson could be viewed as an ideal addition to Manchester United’s squad. On the other hand, Arsenal’s pursuit of Jackson has fizzled out, with the Gunners opting to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting instead.
For Manchester United, the interest in Jackson makes sense. The club is in desperate need of a striker who can offer both depth and versatility. Jackson’s experience in the Premier League, coupled with his potential to develop further, makes him an intriguing prospect. However, the price Chelsea is demanding for a player with just 13 goals last season could be a significant sticking point.
For Chelsea fans, parting with Jackson might not be the worst decision. His potential is clear, but his inconsistent performances may not justify a hefty transfer fee. With the club already strengthening their forward line, it may be wise to cash in on Jackson while his market value remains relatively high. If the Blues can secure a decent deal, it could benefit all parties involved.
As for Newcastle and Villa, Jackson would be an exciting addition. Both clubs are on an upward trajectory, and adding a forward of Jackson’s calibre could boost their ambitions. For Jackson, staying in the Premier League seems the most logical choice, and if Chelsea are willing to listen to offers, one of these clubs could offer him the platform he needs to further his career.
