Manchester City face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final at Wembley this afternoon.
Pep Guardiola’s side are into a third consecutive FA Cup final, becoming just the third team to achieve that feat this century, after Arsenal (2001-2003) and Chelsea (2020-2022).
The Citizens are hoping to end a challenging campaign on a high. Erling Haaland this week called their season ‘horrific’ but the FA Cup offers the chance to salvage their campaign.
City face a Crystal Palace team who have never before won a major trophy. Palace have twice reached the FA Cup final previously, but lost on each occasion to Manchester United (1990 and 2016).
Erling Haaland made his first start since March last weekend and is expected to lead the line despite a lack of match fitness. Pep Guardiola could bring Jeremy Doku and Omar Marmoush back into the team to support Haaland after last weekend’s frustrating goalless draw at Southampton.
In terms of absentees, As for Man City, Rodri is not yet ready to return from his ACL injury despite stepping up training. Elsewhere, John Stones, Nathan Ake, and Oscar Bobb remain out.
Manchester City predicted XI: Ederson; Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O’Reilly; Kovacic, Bernardo, De Bruyne; Doku, Marmoush; Haaland.
Crystal Palace take on Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday 17th May 2025. Kick-off at Wembley is 16:30 BST.
In the UK, the game will be televised live on BBC One and ITV1.
