Officials from Manchester City were present at the Allianz Arena last week monitoring performances of players from both Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.

The Premier League champions are currently in the process of formulating their transfer intentions for 2025, with some tipping the club to undergo a major rebuild of Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad.

That feeling comes amid an ongoing torrid run of form for the club having lost nine matches in their last 12 games across competitions, dropping to seventh in the Premier League and 22nd in the UEFA Champions League.

Some believe that work may be done on the squad in the upcoming January transfer window such is the severity of the situation at hand, however the club themselves have already rejected interest in the likes of Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

But the latest line of reporting has taken the attention of Manchester City’s scouting staff over to the German game, and a suggestion that they have been monitoring the performances of two attacking-minded stars of the sport.

That is according to the information of TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey, who report that all of Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United were in attendance to see striker Benjamin Sesko in action against Bayern Munich on Friday night, among a total of 20 clubs at the game.

It is claimed that whilst Sesko was the centre of the aforementioned three clubs’ attention, Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala is also a player all three clubs are keeping close tabs on for future reference.

For now, it remains unlikely that Manchester City would be seriously interested in the signing of Sesko unless there was any possibility of Erling Haaland leaving the club any time soon, with the Norwegian expected to hold down the starting striker role for the foreseeable.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of the 24-year-old but neither club are expected to sanction a financial proposal to Manchester City close to the Premier League champions’ valuation.

As for Jamal Musiala, the German playmaker is a far more viable candidate to become a clear Manchester City target, given the uncertainty surrounding the future of Kevin De Bruyne as the 33-year-old approaches the final six months of his Etihad contract.
