Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is on the verge of finalising his dream move to Barcelona after passing his medical.

The 27-year-old is a youth product of the club who rose through the ranks to become a protagonist with the first team at a very tender age.

At one point, the England international was considered the biggest attraction at Old Trafford by many fans and observers. Former Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag hailed him as an ‘unstoppable’ player.

However, the attacker’s fortunes went south when Ruben Amorim arrived at Carrington last November.

Rashford has been an outcast at United since December

By mid-December, Rashford had already been excluded from the matchday squad, and never made an appearance for Man Utd since. This prompted a loan move to Aston Villa in January.

But despite Rashford’s encouraging displays in Birmingham, the Villans opted against exercising their option to buy him for £40 million, especially after failing to unlock Champions League money next season.

Hence, the Manchester native returned home, but was never going to win Amorim’s favour. The striker knew he needed to find a new accommodation elsewhere, and luckily for him, he managed to seal a move to his favourite destination.

Following a sudden onslaught, Barcelona managed to strike an agreement with Man United for Rashford’s transfer. They are set to host the player on loan while covering his entire salary.

According to The Telegraph, Rashford has now passed his medical, suggesting that the official announcement should be imminent.

The source also reveals that, by sending the player away to Catalunya, the Red Devils will be able to save £12.75 million on the wage bill.

This should open significant room for newcomers, beginning with Bryan Mbeumo who is also expected to finalise his own transfer from Brentford to Man Utd in the coming hours.
