Manchester United could be deprived of the services of Manuel Ugarte who apparently headbutted Arsenal striker Kai Havertz.
While the Red Devils prevailed in the spot-kicks to cement a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup, this victory only ensued following a series of dramatic incidents.
Bruno Fernandes gave the visitors the lead at the Emirates with an astonishing first-time strike, but his compatriot Diogo Dalot left them with a man down following a needless sliding tackle that earned him a second booking. Arsenal immediately took advantage of their numerical superiority as Gabriel struck home the equalizer.
The Gunners then had a golden chance to equalise after being awarded a dubious penalty kick for a soft challenge from Harry Maguire on Havertz, but Martin Odegaard couldn’t beat Altay Bayindir from the spot.
But before the penalty kick was taken, the referee’s decision prompted a huge melee. It all began when an irritated Maguire confronted the Germany international, calling him a ‘cheating s***house’ for his theatrical fall.

However, Havertz’s retribution was far from over, as during the melee, the cameras caught Ugarte headbutting the former Chelsea who quite expectedly went to the ground… yet again.
While many would argue there wasn’t much power behind the clash of heads, and it wasn’t noticed by the match official. Moreover, there was no VAR involved in this FA Cup round.
However, it remains to be seen what the football federation will decide upon reviewing this incident. It is deemed to be violent conduct, the Uruguayan midfielder will be facing a three-match ban.
This would come as a heavy blow for Ruben Amorim, especially amidst the lack of options in the middle of the park with the Casemiro/Eriksen combination yielding disastrous results against Newcastle.
