Amad played 43 games, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists in all competitions.

Despite starting the season as a bit-part player, he has ended the campaign as one of the first names on the team sheet.

Le Tissier was given the captaincy of the Man United Women’s team last year and led her young side to Champions League qualification and the FA Cup final.

Their seasons have got even better after the club’s official website announced, “Amad and Maya Le Tissier have been awarded the PFA’s Community Champion award by Manchester United Foundation, honouring their ongoing support for the local community throughout the 2024/25 campaign.”

The website asserted, “over the course of the season, both players have been recognised for their wonderful contribution to Foundation initiatives and projects, engaging and inspiring the next generation by visiting local schools and raising awareness of the community work taking place across Greater Manchester.”

Amad was particularly involved in a Black History Month workshop where he worked with children from schools that are associated with the Foundation.

The Ivorian also visited Moss Side Primary school, presenting an award to a Foundation staff member with their own Community Captain trophy.

Speaking on the prize Amad claimed, “I’m so happy to have received this award. I’ve really enjoyed visiting schools in the community, seeing the kids and putting smiles on faces.” He also elaborated on the importance of giving back to the community as a United player.

Le Tissier has also visited numerous schools across the area and she has inspired many young girls looking for a way into football.

Commenting on her award she stated, “I’m delighted to receive the PFA Community Champion award this season. Working in the local community is incredibly important to the club, especially given how big football is in Manchester.” Featured image Alex Livesey via Getty Images
